Teffont Archaeology Project Guided Tour

This summer the Teffont Archaeology Project are back in Teffont, excavating a Roman settlement site in the west of Teffont Evias, possibly relating to a nearby Roman shrine. We hope to be able to use the finds, structures and environmental remains we recover to understand what people did at this site in the Roman period, adding to the rich story of religion and everyday life we’ve begun to build through our previous work in Teffont since 2008. We’re hosting a public open afternoon on Saturday 19th August, with guided tours starting at 2PM and 3PM from Home Farm, Teffont Evias, SP3 5RG (parking signed from the road through Evias; please meet at the farm if arriving on foot, student marshals will give directions). We’re also holding a talk on our results in Teffont village hall on Wednesday 23rd August, starting 6.15pm – admission free. We’d love it if you could join us at these events to find out about what we’ve discovered. If any Teffont residents are interested in volunteering on the project, we have some ‘taster day’ places working on the excavation or processing finds and environmental remains at our post-excavation base at Home Farm – please email David at This email address is being protected from spambots.
