The Church in Teffont
Teffont has two Church of England Churches, St Edward, King of the West Saxons, in Teffont Magna and St Michael and All Angels in Teffont Evias. The Parish is part of a wider group of 7 parishes of the Lower Nadder Benefice.
Attendance at church in Teffont has been growing over the last few years and we hope that this is as a result of the warm welcome which is given to anyone visiting for the first time by both the congregation and the Team Rector.
The normal pattern of services in a month is for two services:
Second Sunday - Evias 11:15am All Age Communion Service, with refreshments service

Third Sunday - Magna 11:15 All Age Communion

Types of Services
Our All-Age Communion services are a shortened and simplified form of Holy Communion from Common Worship. However appropriate Services are held on Festival days i.e. Christmas, Easter, Mothering Sunday, Harvest and there is an annual Carol Service. As expected there is also a Service at 10:50 on Remembrance Sunday.
Baptism, Confirmation, Weddings and Funeral

We would also like to hear from you, if you or anyone you know would like a home visit, and she is also happy to take Holy Communion to the housebound.
Baptism (Christening)
We are always delighted to welcome a new member of God’s family in baptism, at any age! Baptism isn’t just for babies, Children and adults can be baptised as well. Baptism usually takes place in one of our Sunday services so that the Teffont congregation can be there to support you and make you feel at home.
Confirmation
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey when a person affirms the faith into which they were baptised. Confirmation services take place at different churches in the area, or in the cathedral. Before the confirmation service, there are opportunities to learn more about the Christian faith you are about to declare.
Marriage
If you would like to get married in one of our lovely Teffont churches do get in touch. You don’t have to live in the parish to get married here although you do need a qualifying connection to the parish. If you don’t already have one the Rector is always happy to meet with you and explain how a connection can be made.
Funerals (Cremation and Burials)
The church offers comfort and support when a loved one dies. There are many ways to celebrate the life of someone who has died and to mark their death, as they are committed to God’s eternal care. There can be a funeral in church that precedes a burial or cremation, or we can arrange a thanksgiving service later.
Bell Ringing
A small group of bell ringers chime the three bells at Evias for weddings, funerals and special events. If you would like to know more please contact the Rector.
